On Jan. 23, Officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the 2900 block of Lamar for a moving violation. Officers observed the driver of the vehicle to make unusual movements after they had activated their overhead lights. The driver continued to drive the vehicle West on Lamar until officers activated their siren. Once the vehicle stopped, Officers made contact with Chad Dewayne Anderson (49) and a female passenger. Both of the occupants seemed nervous. Due to the furtive movements and nervous demeanor of the subjects, Anderson and the passenger were asked to exit the vehicle. They complied and Anderson gave officers permission to search the vehicle for weapons or other prohibited items. Narcotics were found in the area of Andersons feet in the floorboard. Anderson and his passenger both denied knowledge of the narcotics. Anderson was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Felony. The passenger was released with the vehicle per Anderson’s request.
On Jan. 23, Officers responded to a call in the 1700 block of Margaret St. The victim advised that an ex “Caretaker” with a home health company had taken several items belonging to her. Jewelry, a smart watch, and a butterfly collection were just some of the items named. The officer assigned to the case located information for the suspect and the incident is under investigation.
Officers made 25 traffic stops, 3 adult arrest, and answered 67 calls for service for this reporting period.
