Gary Wayne Pool , 44 of Sumner, Texas, was arrested at 8:15 A.M. on January 13, 2023 at the Lamar County Probation office on two felony warrants. Pool is currently on probation for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and assault of a family member with previous convictions. Pool was booked and then transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
At 1:54 P.M. on January 13, 2023, Paris Police responded to an assault that had occurred in the 300 block of SE 19th St. The 40 year old victim reported that her 41 year old husband had assault her during the previous night. The victim reported that she had been struck by a vehicle that her husband was driving and had been struck on her arm with a baseball bat during an argument. The incident is under investigation.
Aaron Wade Shannon, 28, of Paris, was observed walking in the 1100 block of SE 15th St at 1:26 P.M. on January 15, 2023 and was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant. The felony warrant charged Shannon with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The warrant stemmed from an incident in July 2022 where Shannon struck a person in the head with a small baseball bat. Shannon was also found to have a Municipal Court warrant. He was booked and placed in the city jail and is waiting to be transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to 273 calls for service and arrested 16 persons over the holiday weekend ending at midnight on January 16, 2023.
