Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 9:41am: Paris Police Officer responded to the 1300 block of North Main Street and met with a victim reporting that through the night, his brown 2007 Chevy 3500 flatbed pickup was stolen from the front parking lot. Cameras at a neighboring business indicated that the pickup was stolen between 11:20pm – 11:40pm. The incident is under investigation.
Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 10:13am: Paris Police Officer responded to the 800 block of Deshong Drive to investigate a Felony Criminal Mischief >=$2,500<$30K. No details are available.
Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 1:00pm: Paris Police Officer took a report of a fraud over the telephone from a victim who advised that on 01/04/2023, several fraudulent transactions totaling $1170 were made on her bank account, via “Zelle” Cash App on her phone. The victim provided possible leads to a suspect in Tennessee.
Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 3:41pm: After a narcotics investigation in the 100 block of NE 11th Street; 34-year-old Jerry Duel Smith of Paris and 35-year-old Nicholas Jordan Dawson Sr. of Paris were both taken into custody and booked into the Paris Jail for Manufacture Delivery Controlled Substance PG 1>=4G<200G for possession of approximately 36 grams of methamphetamine.
Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 6:57pm: Paris Police Officer spoke with a victim over the telephone, who advised that her unlocked vehicle had been entered the previous night in the 1700 block of Fairfax Street. A black Glock 43 semi-automatic 9mm handgun distinguished with paint splatter on it was stolen from inside her vehicle. The handgun was entered into TCIC/NCIC as stolen.
Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 7:31pm: Paris Police Officer responded to the 1700 block of Graham Street, where individuals at the residence alleged that a man in a gray van had pointed a gun at a 14-year-old. Contact was made with the man in the gray van, who stated that he believes that a subject at the residence had possibly stolen money from his church and had also broken into vehicles the week prior. He admitted confronting the subject about the thefts; but without a handgun. After reviewing video footage, officer does not believe a handgun was involved.
