On Jan. 9, the department was notified of a fraud which had occurred at a business in the 1300 block of Lamar Avenue. The victim, who lives in Minnesota, advised that a family member had taken over 30,000.00 from his bank accounts without his permission. The incident had occurred in the City of Paris and he had been directed by his local police department to contact Paris Police to report the incident. The business in which the incident occurred was unavailable for contact at the time of the report. Evidence was collected by the reporting officer and the investigation will continue.
On Jan. 9, Officers responded to a major accident in the 5000 block of 271 South. An SUV had left the roadway and struck a tree, causing significant damage to the vehicle. No other vehicles were involved. The driver was injured and was transported by Paris EMS to a local medical facility. Weather was the foremost contributing factor and no citations were issued.
Officers made 1 traffic stops, 1 adult arrest, 7 motor vehicle accidents, and answered 95 calls for service for this reporting period.
