Friday, December 29 at 7:58am; a Community Service Officer took an Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle report of a 1995 Chevrolet 1500 short bed pickup missing from the 1100 block of Grove Street. The incident is under investigation.
Friday, December 29 at 3:33pm; a victim reported to a Community Service Officer that his Dodge Pickup had been entered into, while parked in the 3900 block of Lamar Avenue and his 308 H&R Survivor rifle, valued at $275 was stolen along with a Bushnell scope, valued at $100.
Friday, December 29 at 6:39pm; Paris Officers put out a BOLO (be on the lookout) for a 71-YearOld Hispanic male that was reported as Missing. The wife stated he left in her car, a 2006 Pontiac Vibe, while she was shopping inside a store for about 15 minutes in the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue. The vehicle was found abandoned in Delta County.
Sunday, Dec. 31st; Officers were informed that the subject was found safe laying in a shed and was now at Paris Regional Health, being evaluated.
Friday, December 29 at 9:26pm; after a Paris Officer initiated a traffic stop in the 400 block of East Henderson Street for failing to signal its turn, Driver 37-Year-Old Ricardo Jose Duarte-Smith, originally from Nicaragua was arrested and taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance-Cocaine.
Friday, December 29 at 11:45pm; Paris Officers initiated a security check in the 800 block of Provine Alley on a vehicle parked off the roadway in the ditch/grass area with no lights on and made contact with the two subjects inside. Both 58-Year-Old Louis Huley Jr. and 75-Year-Old Earl Junior Williams were arrested and booked into the Paris Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance-Crack Cocaine. Huley Jr. was also booked on an outstanding Georgia Parole Violation Warrant.
Saturday, December 30 at 11:33am; an Assault Family-House-Member-Impeding Breath Report was taken at Booker T Washington Homes. The victim stated that her ex-boyfriend had come over to her apartment after they had a disagreement on child custody exchange of their two children and he became angry and choked her. The incident will be investigated.
Sunday, December 31 at 1:49am; a store employee in the 3000 block of Clarksville Street stated 2 unknown suspects, described as Hispanic males held him at gun point during the duration of an Armed Robbery. One suspect wearing a blue hoodie, a dark color face mask held a silver handgun with a black handle, pointed at the victim; while the other, wearing a white hoodie, dark color face mask and yellow gloves, walked behind the counter and removed the money from the cash register. Before Officers arrived; the suspects left on foot, eastbound towards an apartment complex, with a determined amount of $64.93.
Sunday, December 31 at 2:14am in the 3300 block of NE Loop 286 and at 2:16am in the 3000 block of Lamar Avenue; two subjects from two separate incidents were each arrested for their first DWI’s over the Holiday weekend. Both were booked into the Paris Jail.
Monday, January 1 at 7:30am; 45-Year-Old Leah Elizabeth Osburn, known to be “Wanted” was arrested at her residence in the 100 block of Southeast 21st Street on an outstanding Bowie County Sheriff’s Office Warrant for Probation Violation-Attempt to Commit Possession of a Controlled Substance and booked into the Paris Jail.
Monday, January 1 at 3:27pm; a Paris Officer recognized a passenger known to have outstanding Class “C” Warrants, in a vehicle leaving a parking lot in the 3500 block of Lamar Avenue and initiated a traffic stop. 27-Year-Old Christopher Austin Basham was taken into custody. At booking, Basham was additionally charged with two Felony Offenses-Forgery of a Financial Instrument and Fraud/Use or Possession of Identifying Information for possessing 4 debit cards and a Texas driver’s license not in his name and 4 personal checks made out to him; one with bank account information of another subject written on the back.
Friday, December 29, 2023 through Monday, January 1, 2024; Paris Police Department responded to 211 Calls for Service, Arrested 22 adult persons and made 93 Traffic Stops.
