On Feb. 10, Officers of the Paris Police department were dispatched to the 1400 block of NE 27th reference a disturbance. Officers arrived and were advised that a male subject at the residence had made threats of self harm. They were also advised that the male subject was a felon and was in possession of a firearm. Officers performed a consent search of the accused vehicle and located body armor and ammunition within the vehicle, which is illegal for a felon to possess. Officers took the ammunition and vest into custody. A handgun was later discovered inside the residence shared by the accused and his partner. The handgun was also taken into evidence. The disturbance was quelled and the case is under investigation.
On Feb. 10, officer responded to a Burglary of Habitation in the 400 block of SW 13th. The victim, who was currently living in an RV at that location advised that some unknown person had entered their RV through a possibly unsecured front door and stolen shoes and prescription medications. The victim said that theft took place in the past two days and they were unsure who might have committed the crime. Evidence was collected at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
On Feb. 10, a theft of a firearm was reported in the 1100 block of SE 3rd St. The victim advised he had loaned a handgun to a family member who lived at the afore mentioned address. The family member had expired and that another known family member had cleaned out the property of all items, including his handgun. Victim has asked for the handgun but the person will not discuss it with him. The handgun was entered into TCIC/NCIC as stolen and the case is under investigation.
Officers made 10 traffic stops, 1 adult arrest, and answered 80 calls for service for this reporting period.
