Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 9:08am: 28-year-old Dakota Hunter Parker of Pittsburg was located across the street on the north side of a business in the 3000 block of Clarksville Street after several Paris Police Officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of Clarksville Street to a disturbance in progress. Parker had attempted to start a fire and had broken a window at an apartment in the complex, before leaving on foot. Parker was bleeding from his right hand, exhibiting sign of public intoxication, rambling incoherently and screaming. EMS treated Parker at the scene and he was later transported to the Paris Police Jail and booked for Arson (2nd Degree Felony), Criminal Mischief (Class A Misdemeanor) and Public Intoxication.
Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 11:15am: A victim arrived in the Police Department lobby and Community Service Officer took a Fraud Use Possession of Identifying Information report. The victim had learned that someone had used his information to open an AT and T account and had activated a new phone. The account was opened in May of 2022 and payments stopped in November. The incident will be investigated.
Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 9:17pm: Paris Police Dispatch received a call of a family disturbance with a female requesting help. Paris Officers responded to the 100 block of NE 25th Street and heard crying from an apartment. One Officer started beating on the door and 61-year-old Gregory Darnell Akins of Paris opened the door. Akins was placed in handcuffs. The victim was located upstairs and stated that Akins had been hitting her with a belt and had chocked her. Akins was taken into custody and booked into the Paris Police Jail for Aggravated Assault With A Deadly Weapon and Assault Impeding Breath/Circulation.
Tuesday, February 28, 2023: The Paris Police Department responded to 73 Calls for Service and arrested 5 adult persons.
