On Feb. 20, Officers went to the 4800 block of Lamar were notified of an incident involving Assault of a Child or Elderly or Disabled Individual. Officers spoke with a victim who reported an assault by a family member. Initial information was obtained and the appropriate state agencies were contacted. The investigation is open and will continue. Due to the nature of the incident, no further information will be disseminated.
On Feb. 21, Officers responded to the 300 block Bonham St. in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival they met the victim who advised that he had been assaulted by his ex girlfriend, Kelsey Kaye Durham (31) of Paris. Officers established that alcohol had been involved in the disturbance and that Durham had destroyed property belonging to the victim intentionally and had then assaulted him by pushing him in the chest. Due to the danger of further violence Durham was arrested for Assault. It was discovered through further investigation that Durham had several prior convictions for Family Violence Assault. She was subsequently charged with Assault of a Family or Household Member with Previous Convictions, a Felony. Durham was processed without incident.
Officers made 4 traffic stops, 1 adult arrest, and answered 82 calls for service for this reporting period.
