On Feb. 1, the department received a complainant of a Criminal Trespass in the 800 block of NE Loop 286. Amber Nicole Beck (42), of Paris, had intentionally turned off the power to the building. Camera footage showed Beck in the area of the building’s power switches outside. The building houses a dialysis center. Eleven patients were being actively treated at the time of the power interruption, which delayed and interrupted their treatment. At least one of the patients was over 65 years old. Beck was arrested and charged with Endangering a Child/Elderly/or Disabled Individual, a Felony.
On Feb. 1, Officers arrested Jesse James Thompson 45 of Paris in the 200 block of SW 1st. Thompson was charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and one county of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. See separate media release for further information.
On Feb. 1, Officers arrested Roderick Deshawn Jones 42 of Paris after being contacted by Lamar County Probation. Jones was located in the 3100 block of Clarksville St and taken into custody without incident. He was arrested on warrants for Motion to Revoke Probation for Assault of a Family Member by choking and Abandoning or Endangering a Child. He was also arrested on an outstanding Police Department Warrant for Assault of a Family Member with a Previous Conviction, a Felony. The original incident was reported on July 5, 2024 when Jones allegedly choked a family member in front of witnesses. Jones was processed without incident.
On Feb. 2, an officer stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of NW 4th for expired registration. He made contact with Rebecca Marie Daniels 50, of Paris. Daniels allowed the officer to search certain articles which she picked from the vehicle. Inside a belt pouch, the officer located several prescription pills, some of which were Gabapentin, a prescription narcotic. Daniels did not have a prescription for the medication. A subsequent search of Daniels’ property revealed her to be in possession of further narcotics. She was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Dangerous Drug. She was booked without incident.
On Feb. 2, Officers arrested Jason Don Prunty 42, of Paris on an outstanding warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Prunty was located in the 1200 block of NW 18th Street. The arrest is a result of a police contact with Prunty from August 2024 when officers found him in possession of a small amount of narcotics. The narcotics were seized and then sent for lab confirmation. Prunty was booked and transferred to Lamar County Jail.
Officers made 66 traffic stops, 13 adult arrest, and answered 320 calls for service for this reporting period.
