Paris Police responded to the 4300 block of Bonham St at 2:53 P.M. on February 10, 2023 in reference to a wanted person. Officers arrested 20 year old Keaton Pierce Wilkerson, of Saltillo, Texas, on a Hopkins County felony Probation Violation warrant. Wilkerson is currently on probation for an evading arrest or detention with a vehicle convicxion. Wilkerson was booked and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of SE 6th St at 3:36 P.M. on February 10, 2023 for a defective brake light violation. Officers gained concent to search the vehicle by the driver. Under the back seat, the officers located a small baggie that contained methamphetamine and a pipe that is commonly known to be used in smoking illicit drugs. The back seat passenger, Jeremy Landon Faulk, 24, of Paris, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Faulk was later placed in the Lamar County Jail.
At 11:30 A.M. on February 11, 2023, Paris Police stopped a vehicle for a defective brake light violation. The driver, Ian Shoal Battiest, 32, of Paris, was found to have an outstanding felony warrant out of Oklahoma charging him with grand larceny of lost property. Battiest was arrested and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Pine Bluff St at 1:53 P.M. on February 11, 2023 for a traffic violation. The officer smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The driver, 26 year old Noah Thomas Moore, of Paris, admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day. A search was made of the vehicle and the officer located over 2 pounds of marijuana in the front passenger seat. Moore was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana of more than 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds. Moore was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
At 11:41 A.M. on February 12, 2023, Paris Police located and arrested 32 year old Rhyan Shane Johnson in the 700 block of E Washington St. The officer knew that Johnson had two felony probation violations warrants. Johnson is probation for possession of controlled substances of more than 1 gram but less than 4 grams convictions. Johnson was booked and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to a burglary of a residence in the 500 block of Cedar St at 3:00 P.M. on February 12, 2023. The victim reported that sometime between 3:00 P.M. on February 12, 2023 and this date, someone entered the residence through a window and stole three televisions. The incident is under investigation.
Keonta Kiar Morris, 26, of Paris, was observed on the premesis of Booker T Washington Homes and was known to have two outstanding probation violation warrants. Morris was arrested at 3:38 P.M. Morris is currently on probation for theft of firearm and unlawful carrying weapon convictions. Morris was booked and later placed in the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of W Sherman St and found a passenger to have an outstanding felony warrant. Shanna Rachelle Shilling, 45, of Paris, was arrested on a felony Lamar County warrant charging her with three counts of credit card or debit card abuse. Shilling was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to 185 calls for service and arrested 17 persons over the weekend ending at midnight on February 13, 2023.
