Paris Police arrested 32 year old Chantez Dasha Washington, of Paris, at 9:03 A.M. on December 3, 2021 in the 200 block of N Main St. Washington was observed stealing 2 beers by the clerk and found to have been criminally trespassed from that location. Washington was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and was found to have at least two prior theft convictions. He was also charged with felony theft. Washington was later placed in the Lamar County Jail. (Note: No mugshot available.)
Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of NW 19th St at 8:24 P.M. on December 4, 2021. The driver, Thomas Dewayne Johnson, II, 19, of Paris, was found to have an outstanding felony Lamar County warrant charging him with aggravated sexual assault of a child. Johnson was arrested and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the 1600 block of W Houston St at 3:53 P.M. on December 5, 2021. Officers contacted 24 year old Coty Wayne Taylor while investigating the disturbance. Taylor admitted to the officer that he had methamphetamine in his pocket. Officer located the methamphetamine and placed Taylor under arrest. Taylor was charged with possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. He was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to 252 calls for service and arrested 11 persons over the weekend ending at midnight on December 5, 2021.
