Wednesday, December 27 at 6:21am; Paris Dispatch notified Officers of a second burglar alarm activating in the 1200 block of Lamar Avenue. The first was activated at 3:30am and several notifications indicated motion inside. At that time, officers arrived on scene, observed the front door to be unsecured, cleared the building and found no one inside. At 6:21am, the alarm activate again. The owner arrived and discovered the back door open and an $800 dollar cash register containing approximately $100 in cash missing. Latent prints were lifted. The Burglary is under investigation.
Wednesday, December 27 at 12:08pm; the 2005 black Ford Escape reported as stolen on Christmas Day from in front of a residence in the 3000 block of Abbott Lane was recovered in the 100 block East Oak Street on a business parking lot. The owner was notified; arrived and took possession of the vehicle.
Wednesday, December 27 at 12:10pm; Several Paris Officers responded to a Structure Fire in the 3200 block NE Loop 286 and assisted the Paris Fire Department with evacuating the building.
Wednesday, December 27 at 11:43pm; Paris Officers initiated a traffic stop for expired registration in the 2500 block of East Cherry Street. Passenger, 42-Year-Old Guillermo Santos Rodriguez returned wanted for two Lamar County Felony Warrants; Manufacture or Delivery of Controlled Substance PG 1 <1G F-S and MTAG Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1/1-B >=1G<4G F-3. Before entering the jail, Rodriguez twice denied having any contraband. A small bag of methamphetamine was located in his hoodie pocket. Rodriguez was additionally charged with Prohibited Substance/Item into a Correctional Facility F-3.
