On Dec. 26, Officers responded to the 700 block of SE 12th in regards to a disturbance. They met the victim who advised that several known suspects came to her residence, forced their way into the residence and then threatened her with a baseball bat. The victim and a witness were both present when the incident occurred. The victim had physical injuries indicative of the truthfulness of the story. A report was made and the suspects were later contacted and given a criminal trespass from the property.
On Dec. 27, the department was notified of a theft occurring in the 3500 block of Lamar Avenue. The business provided video of the theft to the officer who was able to obtain information on the vehicle used and on the suspect. During the investigation it was discovered that the suspect had been convicted on previous occasions for Theft. The case is under investigation and warrants are forthcoming.
On Dec. 27, Officers investigated a Burglary of Building in the 10 block of Clarksville St. The door glass had been broken out and a suspect description was available. The suspect, a juvenile, was later located in the 800 block of Clarksville and after a brief foot pursuit, was captured and identified. The suspect was released to parents. Charges are pending.
On Dec. 27, a report of Theft and Assault on an Elderly Individual was taken in the 2100 block of Bonham St. The 71 year old victim advised that her boyfriend of several months had stolen money and a credit card from her purse. When the victim confronted the suspect, he struck her in the face and left the scene. The suspect could not be located. The incident remains under investigation.
On Dec. 27, Officers received a report of a Burglary of a Vehicle occurring in the 900 block of E. Austin St. Suspects stole a firearm as well as a thermal optic and suppressor from the victim’s vehicle. It is unknown if the vehicle was locked but no forced entry or damage was located. The incident is under investigation.
On Dec. 28, Officers were notified of a Theft occurring in the 800 block of NE 33rd St. The victim advised that an unknown person had stolen a saddle from the victim’s pickup bed. Later officers were notified by the victim that someone had provided information as to who had the saddle. Officers accompanied the victim to an address on FM 137 where they made contact with a suspect and recovered part of the saddle accessories. The rest of the tack, including the saddle was later recovered and returned to the owner.
On Dec. 28, Officers stopped Kenterria Unique Jones (29) for a traffic violation in the 1600 block of E Sherman St. Jones was found to be wanted for a Probation Violation or Forgery out of Dallas County. She was arrested on the warrant, booked and placed in jail.
On Dec. 28, an officer stopped a vehicle in the 3100 block of NE Loop 28 for speeding. Upon contacting the driver and passenger the officer detected the smell of marijuana. A warrant check of the pair revealed an outstanding warrant for the passenger, Marvin Jones III (21). The officer conducting the stop had observed a THC inhaling device in the glove box of the vehicle and a subsequent search revealed marijuana residue and paraphernalia. Jones was arrested for an outstanding Robbery warrant out of Austin Texas. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance. He was booked and taken to county jail.
On Dec. 28, a traffic stop in the 400 block of Lamar brought officers into contact with Dakota Lane Tippit (26) of Clarksville. Tippit was found to have numerous warrants from other agencies including Possession of a Controlled Substance, Theft, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and Credit Card Abuse. Tippit was arrested without incident and placed in jail.
Officers made 122 traffic stops, 10 adult arrest, and answered 279 calls for service during this reporting period.
