Mon. Dec. 23 at 2:23pm; a Paris Officer made contact with 41-year-old Ashley Kay Medders in the 300 block SW 9th Street and took her into custody on a Franklin County Felony Probation Violation-Possession Controlled Substance Warrant and
transported and booked her into the Paris Jail.
Mon. Dec. 23 at 8:33pm; Detectives with the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force received notice that a homemade trailer, containing a Lincoln Welder had been stolen from the 8300 block of US HWY 271 N in Powderly. 51-year-old Troy Lynn Blackwell of Talco was located on County Road 43200 with the stolen items, after his Suburban had left the roadway, ran into a ditch, causing the stolen trailer to flip and detach from his Suburban. Blackwell was taken into custody for Felony Theft Property greater than $2,500 – less than $30K.
Tues. Dec. 24 at 3:48pm; Paris Dispatch received a call regarding a female that had ran out of a store in the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue, after shoplifting-skip scanning items. Paris Officers made contact with a female matching the given clothing
description in the 3700 block of Lamar Avenue and identified her as 37-year-old Lauren Rhea Samuel. Samuel admitted to the theft and stated that she had the stolen items in her purse and gave an officer consent to retrieve the items. A baggie with a clear crystal substance inside and multiple pills were located in her purse. Samuel was taken into custody for one “Felony” Possession Controlled Substance Meth and one “Class A” Possession Controlled Substance-Xanax and Theft Property-less than $750 for the $512.38 worth of items shoplifted.
Mon. Dec. 23 through Wed. Dec. 25, 2024: The Paris Police Department responded to 174 Calls for Service, made 4 Adult Arrest, and Initiated 29 Traffic Stops.
