On Dec. 19, an officer entered a report of Credit Card or Debit Card Abuse, a state jail felony, from a business in the 1200 block of Clarksville St. Employees of the business told the officer they had processed multiple orders for materials totaling more than $70,000, and the customer had paid with credit cards. The materials had been picked up by the buyer’s employees. The customer also placed and provided credit card information for another order valued at over $25,000, which the seller canceled before providing the materials. The reporting business has since been notified that the credit card charges have been disputed, resulting in the funds being removed from the seller’s bank account. The report will be investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division.
On Dec. 19, an officer responded to a theft call in the 500 block of NW 10th Street. The caller reported that two guns had been stolen from his residence. The caller told the officer of a disagreement he had earlier in the day with his girlfriend, and the caller determined the firearms were missing after returning home. While the officer was taking the report, the girlfriend made contact with another officer at a different location. Both parties made accusations against the other regarding possible assaults. The officers entered reports for assault of a pregnant person and theft of firearms. An investigation will follow.
On Dec. 19, after receiving a report of a person known to have a warrant for their arrest being on-site at an office in the 4300 block of Bonham Street, an officer arrested David James Bozarth (33) on a Lamar County warrant for Intoxication Assault with a Vehicle. Bozarth was arrested, booked into the Paris City Jail, and later transported to the Lamar County Jail.
On Dec. 22, while conducting a traffic stop in the 1200 block of NE 11th St., an officer was notified by dispatch that the driver, who had been identified as Ardadrian Derance Gray (23), had a warrant for his arrest related to a deadly conduct charge earlier this year. Gray was arrested and booked into the Paris City Jail without incident.
Officers made 55 traffic stops, 5 adult arrests, and answered 233 calls for service during this reporting period.
