On Dec. 11, Officers of the NE Texas Auto Theft Task Force were notified by Fannin County Investigators that various auto parts had been found dumped in a creek in Fannin County. They went to the scene and located several body and interior parts belonging to a vehicle stolen out of California. The parts were recovered and the investigation will continue.
On Dec. 11, Officers were notified of a theft occurring in the 1300 block of SE Loop 286. The location is a house of worship. Unknown suspect(s) had stolen and removed seven outside HVAC (Air Conditioner) units. Officers processed the scene for evidence, collected same, and contacted the Investigations Division. Later on the same date, officers responded to the same location when a reporting party observed that the front door was broken out and the suspect was still on scene. Officers arrived and a single suspect fled on foot. The suspect evaded the officers and was not located. Suspect had broken out the front door of the building and made entry. The reporting party had just happened to come by and interrupted the suspect. The incident is under investigation.
On Dec. 11, Officers assisted Deputies of the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department and the NE Texas Auto Theft Task Force in recovering a stolen pickup. The truck was located in the 1800 block of Bonham St., where the suspect had driven it. The owner of the truck had followed the suspect and had blocked in the vehicle. The suspect had taken the truck from an address in the county without permission. Suspect was detained and then turned over to Lamar County Deputies.
Officers made 21 traffic stops, 1 adult arrest, and answered 128 calls for service during this reporting period.
