On Aug. 5, an officer patrolling near the pavilion at Evergreen Cemetery observed Thomas Duane Taylor (66) lying on the ground asleep surrounded by empty alcoholic beverage containers. Contact with Taylor revealed that he was heavily intoxicated. Taylor was detained at which time he began making threatening statements towards the officer stating that he would “Kill the officer and his family”. Taylor was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and Making a Terroristic Threat to a Peace Officer or a Judge, a Felony. Once at the department, Taylor continued his tirade, making further threatening statements and beating upon the walls and windows of the cell.
On Aug. 5, an officer was dispatched to the 2000 block of W. Cherry where he contacted Taylor Elizabeth Phillips (31) and arrested her on an outstanding warrant for Parole Violation (Possession of Dangerous Drug). Phillips was transferred to the Police Department and booked without incident.
