On agu. 13, Officers of the Criminal Investigations Division attempted to serve an outstanding warrant on Juan Marquis Council (48) of Paris. When contacted Council attempted to flee, but was physically detained by the officers. Council then resisted arrest by jerking away from officers and physically wrestling with them. He was eventually taken into custody by the use of a conducted energy device (Taser). A subsequent search located cocaine and other narcotics on Council’s person. Some of these items were packaged for resale. Council was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance, Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest, and the original Warrant for Assault/Choking of victim (Family) Habitual. He was processed and placed in County Jail.
On Aug. 14, Officers made contact with Brien Wayne Filippi (54) of Paris in the 100 block of SW 4th. Filippi was riding one bicycle and carrying another on the handlebars in an area where numerous bicycle thefts are commonplace. A consensual search was performed and Filippi removed a plastic bag containing methamphetamine from his shirt pocked. Officers located three glass pipes used for the inhalation of methamphetamine in Filippi’s property. Filippi was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and placed in County Jail.
Officers made 12 traffic stops, 6 adult arrest, and answered 100 calls for service during this reporting period.
