On Monday evening, August 10, 2026, at approximately 10:15 p.m., officers with the Paris Police Department were on patrol in the 300 block of NW 19th Street when they observed a male subject walking on the wrong side of the roadway.
Officers made contact with the subject and immediately detected the odor of marijuana coming from his person. Officers also observed the subject holding a pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana in his mouth. When questioned, the male admitted to using marijuana, and officers observed marijuana residue in the pipe.
A search of the male was conducted, during which officers located a small baggie containing a substance they believed to be methamphetamine. The male was placed under arrest and transported for booking without incident.
The substance was subsequently tested and returned a positive result for methamphetamine. The substance weighed less than one gram. The male was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1/1-B, less than one gram, a State Jail Felony.
Officers made 7 traffic stops, 1 adult arrest, and answered 57 calls for service during this reporting period.
