Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 2:49pm: A victim spoke with a Paris Police Officer and stated that his “Blue 1998 BMW Vehicle” was stolen from the 800 block of SE 20th Street. The victim had arranged to trade the vehicle for a camper to his friend. The vehicle was towed to the friend’s address on SE 20th. When he went back to pick up the camper; the camper had been sold to someone else. The friend permitted the victim to leave the vehicle there while it was being working on; however the home-owner gave him two days to remove the vehicle off the property. The Officer took an Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle Report to be investigated due to no one claiming to know where the vehicle is or how it left the property.
Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 7:52pm: Two Paris Police Officers spoke with a store manager in the 2400 block of North Main Street in reference to a theft in progress. The store manager was suspecting a male subject of placing unpurchased items in his pants pockets. Officers observed a bulge in the subject’s pants pocket. A store associate informed Officers that the subject had placed an unknown item in a clothing rack; just before entering the dressing room. A black pouch containing a glass pipe and a baggie of methamphetamine was located in a clothing rack. 45-Year-Old Brandon Lee Smith of Blossom was located in the dressing room; in possession of 5 unpaid pairs of sunglasses, but no criminal charges were pursued; however Smith was booked into the Paris Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Tuesday, April 4, 2023: The Paris Police Department responded to 85 Calls for Service and arrested 7 adult persons.
