At 9:42 P.M. on April 22, 2022, Paris Police stopped 29 year old Donnie Lee Teafatiller in the 2300 block of Clarksville St for a traffic violation and found that she had warrants for her arrest. Teafatiller had an outstanding felony probation warrant on a possession of a controlled substance conviction along with two Municipal Court warrants. Teafatiller was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 10 block of NW 7th St at 9:44 P.M. on April 22, 2022 for a registration violation. The driver told the officer that she had a pistol in the seat of the vehicle under her purse. The officer removed the occupants and then retrieved the pistol. The officer observed a meth pipe laying on top of the purse. A search of the purse revealed that the driver, 45 year old Kristi Dee Vanhousen, of Powderly, Texas, was in possession of methamphetamine. Vanhousen was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful carrying a weapon. The passenger was arrested on two Municipal Court warrants.
At 11:26 P.M. on April 22, 2022, Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of SW 4th St for a defective headlight. The passenger gave the officer a wrong name. During the investigation, the passenger was later found to be 42 year old Keithdrick Dellion Patterson. Patterson was found to have two outstanding felony warrants for his arrest. One warrant was for a motion to revoke on a possession of a controlled substance conviction. The second warrant was a bond surrender warrant on a driving while intoxicated 3rd or more arrest. Patterson was additionally charged with fail to identify as a fugitive. Patterson was later placed in the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to a disturbance and met with the victim in the 1900 block of Lamar Ave at 1:15 A.M. on April 23, 2022. The victim reported that he and his family had been staying with a friend and the friend had demanded more money for staying with him. When the victim advised that he could not pay the extra money, the friend assaulted him. The victim reported that this occurred at about 6:45 A.M. the previous day. The victim then reported that the friend loaded all of them into his vehicle and drove them to the motel and put them out. The victim then reported that the friend had threatened him with a pistol. The investigation continues.
Paris Police observed Nicholas Lee Johnson, 30, of Powderly, in the 1600 block of W Shiloh St at 6:59 P.M. on April 23, 2022 and knew that Johnson had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. Officers confirmed the parole violation warrant on Johnson and placed him under arrest. Johnson was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the 1700 block of E Cherry St at 9:09 A.M. on April 24, 2022. Officers made contact with Karen Theresa Sarver, 37, of Cooper, Texas and found that she was in possession methamphetamine and prescription medication that she did not have a prescription to possess. Sarver was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance of more than 1 gram and possession of a controlled substance of less than 28 grams. Sarver was later transferred to and placed in the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to 261 calls for service and arrested 17 persons over the weekend ending at midnight on April 24, 2022.
