At approximately 2300 hours, an officer stopped a vehicle in the 1400 block of Graham St for an equipment violation. He made contact with the driver of the vehicle, who was identified as James Casey. Casey admitted to having marijuana in his vehicle. The vehicle was searched and drug paraphernalia was located as well as a bag containing marijuana. While standing outside the vehicle Casey was observed to be standing on a clear baggie containing methamphetamine, and trying to conceal it with his foot. Casey was arrested for possession of Controlled Substance and placed in Lamar County Jail.
At approximately noon on 4/17/23, Paris PD officer responded to the Adult Probation office where they arrested Kentavious Espinoza on a warrant for Motion to Revoke Probation on a Felony Charge of Forgery based on an incident from December 2022.
At approximately 1300 hours, Officers arrested Ricky Joe Russell in the 200 block of 12th NE. Russell is charged with three counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and one count of Indecency with a Child. He was booked and transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Officers responded to the 500 block of Bonham St at around 1900 hours in regards to a 911 violation. The suspect, Terri Yates, had called 911 5 times but did not have an emergency to report. Yates was found to be intoxicated and was attempting to fight with neighbors. Yates was using profane language towards neighbors and was advised she was being arrested for disorderly conduct. When the officer attempted to arrest her, Yates struck him in the throat while resisting arrest. She was arrested for Assault on a Peace Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct.
