A group of Paris locals has been selected to participate in the upcoming Red Bull Soapbox Race in the DFW Metroplex September 28, at the Austin Ranch in The Colony, Texas.

This international event brings the small community to life with unique challenges for all racers both experienced and amateurs.

The Colony, Texas comes alive as Austin Ranch once again plays host to the Red Bull Soapbox Race.  The Red Bull Soapbox Race is an international event in which amateur drivers race homemade soapbox vehicles.

Representing Paris, Texas this year will be staff members from Maximum Elevation Off-Road, Jay Ryan and Broadway, characterized by their stage names Dick and Chet respectively. They will be accompanied by their crew Taylor Pickens and Casey Ressler.

“The Adventures of Dick and Chet will begin by a custom-built dream machine that will be entered to win at the big race later this year. They will be racing against the clock competing with up to 70 other teams all in the fight for the title and major bragging rights,” Broadway said in a press release.

This unique event challenges both experienced racers and amateurs alike to design and build outrageous soapbox dream machines and compete against the clock in a downhill race.

According to Red Bull, vehicles throughout the years have ranged from realistic replicas to anything the imagination can conjure up.

“Stay tuned as our local elite team builds up a fan base, builds a winning machine and delivers guaranteed belly laughs along the way. You can follow their adventures on their Facebook event page; Red Bull Soap Box Race,” Broadway said.

Red Bull has held more than 100 soapbox races around the world since the first one in Brussels in the year 2000.
