A total of 105 students from the Paris Independent School District are preparing to showcase their skills at the Texas Future Problem Solving Program’s State Bowl, taking place in Waco from April 11-13.
These talented students will participate across various categories, hoping to earn recognition and opportunities to advance to the International Competition.
In Team Problem Solving, twenty-five teams won bids to compete.
These include four teams in the Senior Division (grades 10-12) coached by Brent Wilburn and Jill Stone, eleven in the Middle Division (grades 7-9) coached by Brent Wilburn, Jill Stone, Eva Dickey and Maddie Jones, five in the Junior Division (grades 5-6) coached by Andria Lawson, and five in the Novice Division (grade 4) coached by Wendy Hamer. Three students will compete in Individual Problem Solving, one in the Senior Division and two in the Junior Division.
In the State Scenario Writing contest, five students have placed in the top five and will find out at the State Bowl if they will be advancing to the International Competition.
These include two in the Senior Division, one in the Middle Division, and two in the Junior Division. In the State Scenario Performance contest, seven students will be representing Paris ISD and will compete at the State Bowl for a chance to advance to International competition. These include one in the Senior Division, three in the Middle Division, and
three in the Junior Division.
In the Artistic Expression contest, six students will be representing Paris ISD and will display their projects at the State
Bowl for a chance to advance to International competition.
These include three in the Middle Division and three in the Junior Division.
The Paris ISD community eagerly supports these students as they prepare for the State Bowl, proud of their accomplishments and hopeful for their future successes.
