Following North Lamar ISD and Chisum ISD decision to implement a four-day school week, Paris ISD on Friday sent parents an online survey, seeking their input topic.
“Paris ISD is exploring the option of a four-day instructional week for the 2024-2025 academic year and, as parent, would like to solicit your input,” said the school in an email.
In the survey, Paris ISD said teachers and staff have been surveyed and 82% of respondents said they would be more likely to continue working for Paris ISD if the district adopted a four-day instructional week.
Additionally, over 70% of respondents stated they would be in favor of a four-day instructional week.
North Lamar ISD voted unanimously, approving a four-day school week, at its board meeting on Thursday night.
According to NLISD, benefits of a four-day school week include recruitment and retention of high quality staff, attendance, school culture and preparedness.
Chisum ISD also announced the district will move to a four-day school week earlier this week.
