Paris ISD on Wednesday addressed comments made on social media by a former employee that “promotes the use of violence.”
“Recently the school district received multiple complaints from concerned community members about comments made by a former employee of Paris ISD,” said the school in an online statement. “The former employee’s statement gratuitously promotes the use of violence as a response to persons associated with ongoing protests.”
The school said the former employee still lists Paris ISD as her employer, but she is no longer employed by the district and is not on the list of persons eligible to work as a substitute teacher.
“We thank our community members for bringing this matter to our attention.”
No further information on the matter, nor the name of the former employee, has been released.
