An emergency Paris Housing Authority board meeting will be held Apr. 5 to address the recent shootings at Booker T. Washington and hear from the public.
Police found approximately 80 empty shell casings at Booker T. Washington on Mar. 31, after a block-party ended with gunshots being fired due to a fight, injuring at least four victims. To read full story, click here
“The PHA board and staff have been diligently addressing the safety and security concerns at all our properties, specifically at Booker T. Washington,” said Jenny Wilson, Vice Chair of the PHA Board. “Our number on concern is for the safety of our residents, and we are working with the City of Paris and HUD to explore options that will prevent this from ever happening again.”
Liz Brooks, PHA Executive Director added, “Our heart go out to all of the residents that experienced a traumatic event this past weekend. We pray that all the victims are recovering and we are here to support them.”
The emergency PHA board meeting will be held Friday, Apr. 5, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the Booker T. Washington community center to address to incident and hear from the public.
