The Bee Gees, ABBA, and Elton John all had hit songs in 1976 and come Nov. 2, 2019, the Paris High School Class of 1976 will be dancing the night away to them once again at their ‘mini-reunion’.
“We decided that it has been way too long since we have had a reunion, so we’re ‘coloring outside of the lines’ and hosting a mini-reunion on our 43rd year,” said Jere Boswell who is helping organize the event.
The last time classmates got together was 13-years ago and even though it is an “off-year” (43-years) they said they didn’t want to wait as they missed their 40-year anniversary.
The event will be held Saturday, Nov. 2 at Heritage Hall, 1009 W. Kaufman Street, from 6 till 10 p.m.
“It’ll be a casual, relaxed and fun event,” said Boswell, “and thanks to a few very generous classmate’s contributions, the event will be free.”
Each ’76 classmate will be able to bring an additional (1) guest at no cost and they are also inviting classmates who graduated in 1975 or 1977 (a $10 fee for those graduates will apply). Everyone who plans to attend must be registered.
“Music will be ‘our’ ’76 class music provided by Randy Nation, and the food will be provided and served by Savory Sisters Catering,” added Boswell.
Soft beverages will be included (cash bar available) with hor d’oeuvre’s. Fees can be paid via PayPal, Credit Card or Check prior to the event when registering.
Planning for another event has already begun for the Homecoming Reunion which will be planned around Paris High School Homecoming 2020 festivities.
“Since there is no registration fee for ’76 classmates, it is even more important that everyone register before the deadline, which is Oct. 15.”
