As winter weather has ravaged the county, so has the lack of gasoline according to several area stations.
Due to icy roads and bad weather conditions throughout the past week, some stores locally have reported the lack of gasoline, however, several said they “have plenty” and others “expect a delivery later today.”
In the Paris, Texas, area, it seems most of the fuel shortages linger near the Northeast portion.
Loves Travel Plaza, North of Loop 286, reported as having “plenty of gas,” while more easterly stores said they were completely out of gasoline, with some saying they still have diesel.
Other stores along the Northwest reported as having a low supply, but they also expect deliveries as early as today. Some stores said, “we’re not low at all.”
As the weather is expected to clear up, and temperatures will rise above freezing later today into the weekend, road conditions should stable. This will allow safe travels for fuel deliveries.
The weekend’s forecast is expected to reach into the upper 40s. Saturday high is 40 degrees, and Sunday’s high will reach upwards of 48. Saturday’s wind chill values are expected to be between 9 and 19, alongside south by southeast winds up 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
The low for Saturday, according to the National Weather Service is 32 and 27 for Sunday. Saturday is said to be sunny, and a slight chance for patchy drizzle on Sunday.
