Sports coverage and athlete exposure in Lamar County are set to reach new heights with the launch of Paris Gameday — a cutting-edge, high-energy sports network dedicated to showcasing local talent.
“Since making Paris my home, I’ve seen so many school records broken,” said Paris Gameday Director of Operations, Steven Johnson. “So many teams make deep playoff runs—three, four, even five rounds—and we’ve seen state champions in track and state finalists in basketball. Our goal is to immortalize the legacy and hard work of these incredible athletes.”
Paris Gameday, an extension of Texarkana Gameday, will not only live-stream games, but will also highlight local sports news, statistics, college offers or commitments, player/coach interviews, and more.
“The recruiting world has changed. Colleges are recruiting other colleges because of how many kids enter the transfer portal. That leaves less time and resources to recruit high school kids. While Division One prospects will get found whether Gameday existed or not, this gives the JUCO and Division II kids more exposure. Not to mention people will be able to relive games and plays whenever they want,” said Johnston.
Texarkana Gameday was launched in 2019 with the goal to shine a spotlight on the athletes and programs of Texarkana.
“In 2021 we expanded that coverage to cover the Longview Lobos. Now it’s time to welcome another city to the Gameday family. Paris – Gameday is coming to your city,” Texarkana Gameday President, Morgan Smith.
Those familiar with Texarkana Gameday have likely experienced it from the streaming side giving fans the capability to watch games when they can’t be in attendance.
While Paris Gameday has already kicked off on social media, the official launch will be the beginning of August.
