Paris firefighters have been visiting the North Lamar elementary campuses during Fire Prevention Week to educate students on how to escape safely from a fire and how to reduce the likelihood of having a fire.

The firemen along with Sparky the Fire Dog showed students how to stop, drop and roll, how to fall and crawl and the skills it takes to be a fireman.  This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign is “Look. Listen. Lear. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere.”

Paris fireman Kyler Bramhall hurriedly dresses while Austin Suggclocks his time and explains that firefighters have to react fast.

Students at Bailey Intermediate practice stop, drop and roll.

In the event of a smoke filled room, students practice on escaping by getting low and crawling.

Students at Everett Elementary circle around Sparky the Fire Dog as he tells them how to escape safely in the event of a fire while firemanAdam Bolton answers a question.
