Earlier today, the City of Paris announced its plan to assist in rolling out COVID-19 vaccines:
The COVID-19 vaccines have recently been approved and distributed nationwide in a very limited quantity to those providers/pharmacies who elected to participate.
Those participating locally to date are Paris Regional Medical Center, Paris-Lamar County Health Department, Kroger Pharmacy, Brookshire’s Pharmacy and Walgreens’ Pharmacy.
The City of Paris and Lamar County Emergency Services have offered logistical support to assist the local providers/pharmacies in vaccinating the public according to the Vaccine Allocation Guiding Principles in Phase 1A and Phase 1B tiers.
The Texas Department of Health and Human Services makes determinations each week which entity will receive vaccines and the quantity. It is not known how many we will receive locally until notified each week by DSHS (1/10-1/16 Week 5 List).
“We will update this information weekly as the distribution list is published,” the city said. “Please note that you will only be able to schedule a vaccination through one of the providers above.”
“As you might expect, the demand is tremendous; they are working diligently to provide the needed shots based on quantity allocated and staff resources available. We ask for your patience.”
