Paris Chevrolet on Wednesday awarded North Lamar High School student Evie Greer a $1,000 Texoma Excellence in Fine Arts Scholarship.
“Today we had the honor of surprising Evie Greer with a $1,000 Texoma Excellence in Fine Arts Scholarship — and her talent is on another level,” said Paris Chevrolet.
Greer earned the recognition following a high school career marked by consistent success in competitive art.
She advanced to the state level all four years, received the Gold Seal Award, the top honor for student artists in Texas, and her work has also been featured in exhibits across the state.
“Evie doesn’t just create art, she also gives back to her community by face painting at local events, painting windows for her school and library, and creating custom artwork for people right here in Texoma She’s been building her craft since elementary school and it shows.”
Greer will further her education at the University of Texas at Tyler studying Studio Arts and Education.
“Big talent. Small town roots. Exactly what Texoma is all about.”
