The Paris City Council recognized two outgoing council members and welcomed returning and newly elected representatives during its most recent meeting on Thursday night.
Outgoing council members Shatara Moore and Mickey Ellis were honored for their service to the City of Paris and presented with awards recognizing their time and dedication as volunteer members of the council.
“Their volunteer service as council members is greatly appreciated.”
Following the recognitions, Stacy Ladell was officially sworn in as the new District 1 council member.
Returning council members Gary Savage and Alix Putnam also took the oath of office after being elected to new terms representing Districts 3 and 6, respectively.
After the swearing-in ceremony, the council held its organizational selections in accordance with the city charter.
Council members unanimously reselected Mihir Pankaj to continue serving as mayor and Gary Savage as mayor pro tem.
