The Paris Animal Shelter announced it will no longer allow public unrestricted entry without a prior appointment “due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic.”
Paris Police Animal Control Supervisor John T. Bull said asks anyone who wishes to adopt an animal to contact the Lamar County Humane Association to set up an appointment for viewing or adoption at 903-784-6774.
Anyone attempting to locate a missing animal is asked to provide the shelter a description of the animal to staff, preferably a photo, and one of the staff members will check for them.
“We apologize for this inconvenience, but it is for the safety of the public as well as the safety of our employees,” Bull said. “Once this crisis has passed, we will resume normal operations. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.”
