The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved-shooting involving Hugo Police Department officers.
According to OSBI, a Hugo police officer observed a man walking near South E Street and West Rosewood in Hugo who was known to have an outstanding warrant on felony charges.
When the officer attempted to arrest the subject on the warrant charges, a struggle occurred and the subject ran on foot.
OSBI reported an assisting officer located the subject, and the subject fired a weapon at officers and continued on foot while exchanging gun fire with an officer.
The subject was hit and transported to Choctaw Memorial Hospital before being mediflighted to a hospital in Dallas, where his condition is unknown at this time.
No officer nor bystander was injured during the gunfire, and there is not other information released at this time.
“Upon completion of the OSBI investigation, agents will submit a report summarizing their investigation to the office of the prosecuting attorney who will determine whether or not to file charges,” according to OSBI.
