North Lamar ISD is proud to announce Shelly Bivens, Assistant Principal at North Lamar Intermediate, and Amy Norwood, Math Teacher at North Lamar High School, as the April Employees of the Month, sponsored by Mathews Auto Group Pay It Forward program.

Amy Norwood – North Lamar High School
Amy Norwood is known for going above and beyond in her classroom. Coworkers describe her as a passionate educator who is always willing to offer extra help before, during, and after school. She brings creativity to her lessons and works hard to ensure every student feels capable of success. Her commitment, positivity, and drive make her a standout on campus.
One coworker shared, “Amy exemplifies what it means to be a North Lamar Panther every single day. Her actions speak volumes and inspire those around her.”

Shelly Bivens has quickly become a beloved leader at North Lamar Intermediate. Her coworkers describe her as a compassionate, steady, and uplifting presence who always puts people first. Known for her calm demeanor, open-door policy, and kind spirit, she has made a powerful impact since stepping into her leadership role.
Team members shared, “She leads with heart,” and “Shelly is the kind of leader that makes our school a place you never want to leave.” Another noted, “She inspires me as an educator, a mentor, and a person I strive to be like.”
