In an effort to allow the UIL State Marching qualifying bands from Paris and North Lamar high schools an opportunity to perform their competition shows before they depart for San Antonio, the two bands will be performing during the Crosstown Showdown Thursday slate of games.
With the onslaught of rain that Lamar County has received and forecast of continuing rain, this will allow both bands to perform in uniforms on turf and avoid potential damage to the uniforms as well as ensure student safety.
The North Lamar Panther Band will perform at halftime of the Freshman game at approximately 6:00 p.m. and the Paris Wildcat Blue Blazes Band will perform at halftime of the JV game at approximately 7:30.
Band directors and administrations of both Paris and North Lamar wish to thank the community for their support and understanding as the necessary steps are taken to ensure the safety and success of the band students.
