Nathan Polsky, a lifelong Texan and Libertarian, announced that he is running for Lamar County Commissioner, Precinct 2, on a platform centered on property rights, reducing property taxes, and accountable county government.
Polsky has identified property taxes as a primary concern for local residents and has committed to opposing tax increases, working to reduce county property tax rates, and advocating for the elimination of county property taxes on owner-occupied homesteads.
“Property ownership should mean security, not permanent rent paid to the government,” Polsky said. “County government should respect property rights and live within its means instead of relying on ever-increasing tax collections.”
While county commissioners do not set property values, Polsky believes county leadership plays an important role in how appraisal-driven revenue growth is handled and budgeted. He supports restraint in spending and greater transparency in how tax dollars are used.
Polsky supports reducing unnecessary regulations on private property while holding landowners accountable for legitimate impacts on others. He has also pledged to oppose the use of eminent domain and to protect landowners from government seizure of property.
A proponent of free-market solutions, Polsky favors cost-effective, voluntary, and private-sector approaches over expanding government programs and spending. He brings professional experience in information technology, emphasizing efficiency, transparency, and accountability in public operations.
A lifelong Texan and family man, Polsky says his campaign is rooted in protecting homeowners and landowners and preserving the ability of families to live and work on their property without excessive government interference.
