Nancy Boatwright Bonds went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 28, 2024 at the age of 82. She was born in Lamar County, Texas on July 15, 1941. She was raised by her adoptive parents, Maudie and Jim Green. Nancy spent her early years in Dallas, Texas, eventually returning to Paris, where she met and married James L. Boatwright in 1959. Nancy and James were together until his death in 1990. She married Roger Wayne Bonds in 1992. Roger and Nancy found enjoyment in buying and selling antiques. They found many treasures on their excursions. Roger preceded her in death in 2004.
Nancy accepted Christ at East Post Oak Missionary Baptist Church and was a member there for several years. She then became a member of First Baptist Church in Paris where she remained until her passing.
Nancy was a member of Twilight Tillers Garden Club for seventeen years. She enjoyed working in her yard and keeping it beautiful for passersby. She took pleasure in being able to open her house for the Christmas Tour of Homes.
In addition to her spouses, and a very dear friend, A.B. Corder, Nancy was preceded in death by her siblings, James Vernon Allred, Ralph Kenneth Allred and, Jackie Marie Allred Richardson and her daughter-in-law, Rebecca Renfro Boatwright.
She is survived by her son, Shane Boatwright and nephews, Kenneth and Keith Richardson.
The family would like to thank the staff of Elara Home Health, especially Jessica Tucker, Andrea Cole and John Brown for the great care and concern they showed Nancy during her illness.
A graveside service to honor Nancy’s life and memories will be held at Providence Cemetery on Monday, April 1st at 4:00 p.m., officiated by Chaplain John Brown. The family will receive friends at the cemetery thirty minutes prior to the service. Bright-Holland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
