Students in Ms. Kelsie Lopez’s class at North Lamar High School have been exploring the wonders of chemistry through a series of hands-on experiments that combine fun with scientific discovery.
From successfully creating a homemade bouncy ball after multiple attempts to making raisins “dance” with baking soda and vinegar, students brought chemical reactions to life in exciting ways.
They upscaled their popular “elephant toothpaste” experiment for a larger reaction, enjoyed the tactile fun of “Fizzy Hands,” and marveled at the dramatic energy release in the “Exploding Gummy Bear” project, led by Dakota and Ricardo Mejia.
These engaging activities not only showcased science in action but also sparked creativity and curiosity, inspiring the next generation of scientists.
