Texas residents welcome new neighbors as between 537,000 to 582,000 people migrated to the great state in 2019, according to the Texas REALTORS’ Relocation Report.
“Once again, Texas welcomed more than half a million new residents from other states,” Marvin Jolly, 2021 chairman of Texas Realtors, said in a press release. “Some move here for a lower cost of living than where they’re from, a great quality of life, diverse job opportunities, good weather—there are many reasons people continue coming to Texas.”
According to Texas REALTORS, Texas has seen more than 500,000 new residents from out of state for seven consecutive years. Between 435,000-471,000 Texans have moved to other states, while the state has received about 192,000-222,000 new neighbors from outside of the U.S. in 2019.
The top two places people have moved from to Texas are California and Florida.
“Though we don’t have 2020 relocation statistics yet, increased remote-work opportunities and company relocations continued to fuel moves from other states to Texas during the pandemic,” Jolly said in the press release.
