“It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood, A beautiful day for a neighbor, Would you be mine? Could you be mine?”

It’s a beautiful day for Tom Hanks and Mister Rogers fans asthe late TV icon is brought back to life in the first trailer for his new movie, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.

For over three decades, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood gave children a slightly different television show to delve into in a very wholesome kind of way.

The famous children’s television show first aired in February of 1968, and lasted through to September 2001, with Fred Rogers passing in 2003.

Although the show has been off the air for nearly 20-years, this Thanksgiving Day people all over the world will relive their childhood memories in the new movie.

“In May 1997, the series surpassed Captain Kangaroo as the longest-running children’s television series,[9][2] a record the series held until June 2003, when Sesame Street beat Mister Rogers’ record. The series could be seen in reruns on most PBS stations until August 31, 2007,[10] when it began to be removed by various PBS stations, and was then permanently removed from the daily syndicated schedule by PBS after August 29, 2008,” explained Wikipedia of some of the history of the show.

The film is loosely based on a 1998 Esquire article by Tom Junod, about the effect Rogers’ optimistic kindness had on millions of people — and the initially skeptical journalist himself, as explained by CNN.

The official trailer,  showcases the storyline of Junod and how he researched and visited with Rogers for his article. Looking back at the start and understanding the unique connection Rogers created with children through his show.

‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,’ is set to hit theaters this November.

Knowing that we can be loved exactly as we are gives us all the best opportunity for growing into the healthiest of people.”-Fred Rogers
