Michael Bates Ricketts, 54, of Paris, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Medical City Plano surrounded by his family.
Mr. Ricketts is under the care and direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home. Services are not scheduled at this time.
Michael, the son of Roger Bates Ricketts & Teresa “Terri” Ferry Ricketts, was born September 30, 1969, in Irving, TX.
He graduated from West Lamar High School (now known as Chisum High School). His career with the Paris Public Library spanned a number of years. Michael was a Christian. He enjoyed gaming and computers. He was known as the “Tech Guy” by his friends and family. He loved to laugh, was a jokester, and had a wonderful sense of humor.
His pride and joy was his two children, Hope and Ryan, whom he loved with all his heart. Michael was dedicated to caring for his loving mother, Terri. He loved being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Bates Ricketts, grandmother, Zelma Ricketts, cousin, Ricky Ricketts, and two uncles, Jimmie Sam Ricketts and Harold Dean Ricketts.
Survivors include his mother, Terri Ricketts, two children, Hope Ricketts and Ryan Ricketts, three siblings, Sara Pierce (spouse Jonathan Pierce), Elizabeth Leija, and Alexander Ricketts, and nephews, Eillan Ricketts, Mark Leija, and Lee Leija along with a host of friends.
