Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United State for honoring and mourning the U.S. military personnel who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the military.
For many, the long weekend also represent an unofficial start to summer but the federal holiday means some businesses will be closed.
Here is a list of what is closed on Memorial Day:
The U.S. Postal Service is closed on Monday – which also means no mail delivery. UPS is closed, including pickup and delivery services. UPS Express Critical service is available.
The Federal Reserve System is closed on Monday, meaning all banks are closed, and there is also no trading in stocks.
Most grocery stores and pharmacies are open on Memorial Day, however hours may vary at certain locations.
