Melba Jean Funderburk, 85, of Paris, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018.

Funeral services have been set for Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Detroit Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, one hour prior to service time.

Melba was a hairdresser for over 44 years and enjoyed fishing, squirrel hunting and cooking for her family and friends. A family favorite breakfast that was always requested was her famous chocolate gravy and biscuits. She loved to dance, play pranks on people, and talk for hours on the phone with her sisters and her dear friend Juanita Garrett.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Rogers and husband Mike; son Patrick Funderburk; grandchildren, Dewayne Icenhower and wife Regina, Stephanie Connot and husband Mike, Lisa Jones, Tina Freelen and husband Jesse, Dalton Funderburk, Faliciti Funderburk, Finiti Funderburk; great-grandchildren Derek Jester, Beau Icenhower, Cody Icenhower, Heath Perdomo-Connot, Blake Williams, Emma Jones, Ava Jones, Ryan Freelen, Tracy Honeywell, Jake Freelen; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dixie Green; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Melba was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Funderburk; parents, James and Lillian Posey; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

The family would like to thank neighbors Will and Sue Ann Brown for their friendship chats on the front porch and making her flower garden the envy of the neighborhood.
