Paris Mayor Steve Clifford will host a town hall meeting this evening via teleconference which will be open to the public.
“These are frightening times. We all want as much information as possible about how the pandemic is progressing in our community and how our local leaders are helping us get through this crisis,” said Clifford. “We need truth, openness and hope. I want to give accurate and up-to-date information to help dispel rumors that are unfortunately circulating widely on social media.”
The meeting will be held via teleconference at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8. myparistexas.com will be LIVE streaming the conference call on our Facebook page, click here
Panelists will include representatives from Paris Regional Medical Center, representatives from the Lamar County Health Department, Paris City Council members, heads of City Departments, Lamar County representatives, representatives from outpatient minor emergency and outpatient ERs, and several local physicians.
“I plan to allow panelists to openly discuss this epidemic and to provide updates to the public as to how we are responding as a community. After an open group discussion, I plan to accept questions from the public that may be directed to any specific panel member or to the entire panel.”
Questions from the public will be done via Facebook and Twitter by using the #askparistexas
“I will read the submitted questions as the meeting progresses, and I will select the most appropriate questions to ask of our participants. Please do not submit specific personal medical questions to the panel as these are more appropriate to discuss in private with your healthcare provider or with the health department,” said Clifford.
