Paris Economic Development Corp. Executive Director, Maureen Hammon, has been re-appointed to the City of Paris Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ).
The TIRZ review and makes recommendations to the City Council regarding the project plan and financial plan for the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone Number 1 for Paris, and make yearly reports to the state comptroller.
Hammond was appointed to the position with the PEDC in August of 2020 and has more than 20-years of experience in economic development.
As the Executive Director, Hammond is responsible for providing visible and active leadership in the development and implementation of economic development programs that address new investment, business attraction, business retention, entrepreneurship and workforce development in Paris and Lamar County.
Hammond has both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and has completed the Economic Development Institute, a program of OU’s College of Continuing Education.
She is a member of the Texas Economic Development Council and the International Economic Development Council.
Hammond also serves of the Keep Paris Beautiful board.
