Mason Garret Justiss, 31, of Howland, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024, following an ATV accident.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 15th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Parker officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in McDonald Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 – 6 p.m.

Mason was born March 10, 1993, in Paris, TX. He graduated from Chisum High School and joined the United States Navy where he served honorably for four years. During that time he was stationed at San Diego, CA and traveled the world with the Navy. He then went to lineman school and became a lineman. Mason worked for several companies before beginning work for North Star where he was employed as a lineman at the time of his passing.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Elaine Smoot Justiss, whom he married on Jan. 16, 2015, one daughter who was the apple of his eye, Kate Justiss, his father, William R. Justiss III, his mother, Karen Justiss, a brother, Kaleb Justiss, grandparents, Darlene Justiss & the late William “Buba” Justiss and Don & Pat Conard, his mother-in-law & father-in-law, Charli & Danny Smoot, two brothers-in-law, Hunter Hoffman (Kelly) and Clinton Smoot, two nephews, Milo & Atticus, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and a host of friends.
