The man who stole an ambulance in Choctaw County back in March that potentially cost the life of another man has been identified by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
The name of the Soper man accused of stealing the ambulance has not been released at this time. According to KXII, Choctaw County Sheriff Terry Park said OSBI released the case over to the Choctaw Nation as the accused is a native Choctaw.
While medics were responding to a 9-1-1 call near the 400 block of Paris Ave. in Soper, treating a Soper man in his home at about 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, the suspect jumped in the ambulance and headed south. The ambulance was found abandoned with medicine and supplies taken about three miles southeast of Soper.
